Because we are convinced that 2025 was not a one-off highlight, but a beginning. Chemnitz is worth a visit. Not just for a big cultural year, but permanently. With our campaign, we will continue to raise Chemnitz's profile in the future. We will introduce people who shape this city. Places that are a must-see. Events, projects and ideas that show what Chemnitz can do and where the city is heading. Each idea represents an aspect of this transformation between industrial history, creativity and the future. At the same time, we see "56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow." as an invitation to network. We want to engage in dialogue with Chemnitz stakeholders and show together how much strength, commitment and quality this city has to offer. Together, we want to paint a picture of Chemnitz that is honest, arouses curiosity and remains memorable. "56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow." is our contribution to thinking ahead about change and making Chemnitz a place that can be experienced beyond its year as Capital of Culture. The campaign is designed as a project that is allowed to grow. Whether the 56 ideas will become more over time is deliberately left open. New formats, further content or more in-depth perspectives are conceivable. What matters is not the form, but the idea behind it. Every idea presented should make people want to discover Chemnitz anew or rediscover it. For guests visiting the city for the first time. For groups looking for shared experiences. And for everyone who is convinced that there are places with character, heart and a future even away from the big cities.
During the weekend of the KOSMOS Festival, Alexander Tauscher, host of the well-known podcast Radioreise, was our guest at c/o56 Chemnitz. In a relaxed atmosphere on our hotel terrace, we had a personal conversation about Chemnitz, our hotel and the special atmosphere surrounding the 2025 Capital of Culture year. The podcast provides exciting insights into the transformation of the city, the festival events and our role as hosts in the heart of Chemnitz.
Since May, there has been a modern e-bike station with eight bikes in front of our hotel – ideal for anyone who wants to rent an e-bike in Chemnitz. The bikes can be easily booked via the homepage of our partner Sunshine Bikes and picked up directly at the station. Whether you are a hotel guest or a Chemnitz resident, anyone can take advantage of this flexible and sustainable mobility option. Anyone who was at c/o56 on St. Nicholas Day felt the warmth that flowed from heart to heart. Fifty families who have sometimes had a difficult life were carried by a wave of solidarity. Thanks to a joint initiative with the Chemnitz energy supplier Eins, the families enjoyed an evening full of joy, laughter and unforgettable moments. A lovingly put together programme, delicious food and warm encounters – it was more than just a celebration, it was a sign of hope and togetherness.
At the turn of the year, we look back on our Chemnitz –
as European Capital of Culture 🎭, as a city in transition between industrial history, art and new ideas.
And right in the middle of it all is us, c/o56 Chemnitz. 🏨

On 6 December, the time had finally come: at c/o56 Chemnitz, St. Nicholas Day became an unforgettable experience for around 200 guests. 🎅❤️
A special highlight of the festive programme was the thrilling Christmas circus by Hironimus, which delighted young and old alike. In addition, the popular characters from the miskus_festival (Central Saxony Culture Summer) conjured up magical moments that captured the hearts of the guests in no time at all. 🎪✨
We had the pleasure of seeing children's eyes light up, experiencing relaxed parents and creating a wonderful festive programme. Santa Claus surprised every child, heart's desires came true, and the approximately 200 guests enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal full of pleasure and joy. 🍴🎁
Our little guests were able to do creative crafts, while the whole family received unique Christmas photos from a professional photographer – memories to last a lifetime. 📸❤️
This special event will leave a warm glow in our hearts for a long time to come. Our guests' gratitude was so sincere and heartfelt that we can only say one thing: it was our pleasure! 🙏

What a night! 💃
Not only did we have top-class speakers on stage at the B2B Sales & Marketing Night on Wednesday, but our hotel also cut a fine figure: between presentations, guests could sit back and relax in our business lounge and strike up a business conversation or two in a pleasant atmosphere.
What's more, all of the speakers were guaranteed a good night's sleep because they were our guests. The next morning, there was a short feedback session with the organiser at the breakfast buffet.
The conclusion: 160 visitors had an exciting and informative evening. That calls for a repeat!

There has been a buzzing and humming on our beautiful hotel lawn for some time now. Now, on World Bee Day, we would like to introduce you to our striped friends. 🐝 The #co56 honey factory is home to two bee colonies with up to 60,000 bees per colony. Sounds like a lot? It is. But even greater is the amount of honey we produce each year: approx. 30 kg per colony. 😳 That's so much that we can even give our regular guests from the co56 member programme jars of honey as a gift. 🍯 And our love for our little friends goes even further: since June 2021, we have been serving only regionally produced honey from our beekeeper, Ms Petri, at breakfast. 🥞

Our 250 Ukrainian guests, who are staying with us for an indefinite period, are supported in all aspects of life by our team led by General Manager Falko Grober – for example, in obtaining toys and teachers and organising leisure activities. A lovely place to visit is the Chemnitz Park Railway, just five minutes away from the hotel. Last weekend, our refugee guests helped with the spring cleaning there and yesterday received free tickets as a big thank you – sponsored jointly by @parkeisenbahn_chemnitz and us #co56.

Today we're showing you Falko Grober's favourite place – Klínovec. 🏔
Due to the pandemic-related travel restrictions of recent years, our hotel manager has been focusing more on his home region, the Ore Mountains. As a gifted skier, the situation played into his hands and he discovered Klínovec as the perfect place for winter sports. 🏂
As a counterpart to the Fichtelberg, Klínovec is located in Czechia and is a popular ski resort, especially in winter. Hard to believe, but true: although spring is slowly approaching in Chemnitz, the snow slopes there are still open. ☃️ Located just over an hour's drive from #co56 Chemnitz, it is the perfect destination for a day trip. 🚗
And even when the snow is gone, Klínovec is still worth a visit, with its multitude of hiking trails, sporting activities such as monster scooter riding, typical folk art workshops and inns.
