56 ideas for tomorrow. Why Body Worlds is a good reason to rediscover Chemnitz! Sometimes you need a place that invites you to pause for a moment. A moment that is not loud, but has a lasting effect. With the exhibition Body Worlds and The Cycle of Life, Chemnitz will get just such an impulse from 2026 onwards. And for us, this is one of those ideas that show why a trip to Chemnitz is worthwhile. From 30 January 2026, the world-famous exhibition will be on display in Chemnitz for the first time. The focus is on the human body in the cycle of life. From conception to old age. The exhibits reveal what we often overlook in everyday life. How much our lifestyle, exercise, diet and environment shape our bodies. It is an exhibition that does not lecture, but asks questions. And that is precisely where its strength lies. Body Worlds fits in well with Chemnitz because the city itself is undergoing change. Between industrial history, new ideas and quiet places for reflection, there is room for new perspectives. Visitors to the exhibition not only look at the body, but also at themselves. What remains. What changes. What we take with us into tomorrow. This idea is also continued at c/o56 Chemnitz. It is a place where you can relax after an intense day at the exhibition, continue conversations or let your impressions sink in. Between arriving and moving on, there is space to take a break from everyday life. For thoughts that are allowed to linger. We see ourselves not only as a starting point for experiences in Chemnitz, but also as a quiet counterpoint. A place where you can consciously end the day or start afresh. The exhibition Body Worlds and The Cycle of Life runs until 28 June 2026 and is aimed at curious city travellers, culture enthusiasts, business guests and anyone who wants to experience Chemnitz with a new perspective. 56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow. For us, this means making places, experiences and thoughts visible that will remain. Body Worlds is one of them. An idea that does not advertise loudly, but has an impact. And a good reason to give Chemnitz time.

Why Chemnitz will remain visible even after 2025. We are proud of our Chemnitz. The year 2025 as European Capital of Culture has impressively demonstrated how much energy, creativity and appeal this city has to offer. National and international guests have rediscovered Chemnitz and experienced how diverse, lively and surprising the city is. Even Die Zeit ran the headline "Chemnitz: the new New York". A sentence that attracted attention and showed that Chemnitz has long been more than just an insider tip. With the initiative "56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow," we want to take this momentum and carry it forward. Because we are convinced that 2025 was not a one-off highlight, but a beginning. Chemnitz is worth a visit. Not just for a big cultural year, but permanently. With our campaign, we will continue to raise Chemnitz's profile in the future. We will introduce people who shape this city. Places that are a must-see. Events, projects and ideas that show what Chemnitz can do and where the city is heading. Each idea represents an aspect of this transformation between industrial history, creativity and the future. At the same time, we see "56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow." as an invitation to network. We want to engage in dialogue with Chemnitz stakeholders and show together how much strength, commitment and quality this city has to offer. Together, we want to paint a picture of Chemnitz that is honest, arouses curiosity and remains memorable. "56 ideas for Chemnitz. 56 ideas for tomorrow." is our contribution to thinking ahead about change and making Chemnitz a place that can be experienced beyond its year as Capital of Culture. The campaign is designed as a project that is allowed to grow. Whether the 56 ideas will become more over time is deliberately left open. New formats, further content or more in-depth perspectives are conceivable. What matters is not the form, but the idea behind it. Every idea presented should make people want to discover Chemnitz anew or rediscover it. For guests visiting the city for the first time. For groups looking for shared experiences. And for everyone who is convinced that there are places with character, heart and a future even away from the big cities.

During the weekend of the KOSMOS Festival, Alexander Tauscher, host of the well-known podcast Radioreise, was our guest at c/o56 Chemnitz. In a relaxed atmosphere on our hotel terrace, we had a personal conversation about Chemnitz, our hotel and the special atmosphere surrounding the 2025 Capital of Culture year. The podcast provides exciting insights into the transformation of the city, the festival events and our role as hosts in the heart of Chemnitz.
